Now More than Ever

Traffic on 95. Grey concrete. A long list of errands. And then suddenly….. This. This reminder that there is love. That it’s here for us and we can share it with others.

That simple one-syllable, ironically four-lettered word conveys the truth we sometimes lose sight of. “Love” says, “I’ve got your back”. It assures, “We’re all in this together.” It reassures, “You are not alone.” It reminds, “Anything is possible.” It means, “You are enough, just as you are.” It offers, “We are all whole.”

It can be painted on street corners, heard in a thank you, seen in a smile, felt in a fist bump.

As a meditation practice, it sounds like, “May I be happy. May you be happy. May we all be happy.”, offered from the heart, maybe each time we exhale, far and wide. In engaged life, it can be offered silently to everyone whose path we cross on a given city block or as we make our way through the aisle of the drug store… a seeing, a breath, a wish for well-being.

As the artist of this mural, 5iveFingaz, says in his four-word motto, “Love more than ever.”
