Language of the Body
This week we turn our attention to the language of the body in the form of tactile sensations. This practice often feels like a coming home as we integrate our body and mind. Our body holds much wisdom and we so often are too busy to take the time to listen. By practicing checking in with our body regularly and all its changing sensations, we build a habit of being open to its messages.
Guiding our attention through the body we can notice not only where there is discomfort, but also where there is comfort. We can feel equally the parts of the body that are carrying out their miraculous work for our benefit unhindered, and those that are experiencing challenges. The act of "turning towards" sensations with a sense of curiosity and openness can help us relate to our bodies with less fear and enhance our ability to care for ourselves.
