Community
CMP = Community + Mindfulness + Project
Formed in 2014, the Community Mindfulness Project's mission is to offer a variety of mindfulness and heart-opening practices to help people support their physical, psychological, emotional and social well-being.
With an emphasis on community, CMP offers secular group meditation sessions in libraries, wellness centers and other community hubs. Our weekly sessions are free and open to the public, are appropriate for long-time practitioners as well as first-timers, and are accessible to people of all faith traditions and none, all physical abilities and ages.
Discussion and peer-to-peer learning are at the core of CMP's approach and we encourage regular practice to fully access the benefits of mindfulness.
We focus on practices that have a scientific basis and seek to bring the highest standards of ethics, scholarship and depth of practice to our organization. Numerous recent studies strongly support the benefits of daily meditation (for as little as eight minutes!), which include improved emotional regulation, focus, resilience, compassion, and mental and physical health.
We also offer one-day retreats and engage in outreach activities in the communities we serve.

Become a facilitator
We are looking to grow our community of facilitators. You will find that your practice can deepen with your guidance of meditation sessions. We provide support and mentoring for facilitators and pay a stipend. Please contact CMP for more information about becoming a meditation facilitator.
