David began training the “monkey mind” over 30 years ago, after seeing a flyer on the University of Texas campus about Transcendental Meditation (TM). TM served him well for years, but with further exploration and studies, he became deeply intrigued by the teachings of some of the American Buddhist meditation teachers such as Jack Kornfield, Joseph Goldstein and Sharon Salzberg, among others.
David took yoga teacher training in the late '90's at Yoga Zone in New York City and taught for a few years at studios in Westchester and Fairfield counties. He has since been involved with various sangha groups and taken a number of 1-3 day meditation retreats. He continues to enjoy using, and teaching others how to use, yoga, movement and breath to prep the body and mind for attaining deeper meditation experiences.
He is eternally grateful for his training and practice, and firmly believes that it helps him maintain perspective and hold on to some form of sanity after 27 years on a bond trading desk and 18 years of fatherhood.
