What’s On Our Bookshelf: Research-Backed Reads on Mindfulness

Hello,

How are you?

At CMP, we have always been an organization that takes delight in, and feels a strong sense of responsibility for, continual learning.   Built into each of our days is time to gather new knowledge and skills that will help us share mindfulness in the most impactful way possible.

Recently, as I looked at the mindfulness books on my bookshelf, I was struck by how many of them were the product of scientific research carried out in labs at universities. Thanks to research - especially the research done in the last 20 years - we have a far greater understanding of how our brains and nervous systems function.  And this knowledge is power.  We can use it to live healthier, happier lives.

At CMP we use what we learn from the books written about this research to design our mindfulness programs, and we feel a deep sense of gratitude for the rigorous work that went into it.

Here are just some of the research-based books that are on my bookshelf.

Most, if not all of them are available through your local library, or at

Bookshop.org (a portion of the proceeds go to the local bookstore of your choice)

Libro.fm (for audio books with a portion of the proceeds go to the local bookstore of your choice)

Thriftbooks.org (pre-owned books)
