Intro to MBSR
Back by popular demand!!
Join Community Mindfulness Project and facilitator, Lisa Sheehan, this April and May for an introduction to the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program created at UMASS Medical School by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn in 1979. With concepts and practices drawn directly from the original 8-week MBSR program, this is an experiential, introspective program that examines the science behind mindfulness, the psychology and physiology of stress, and encompasses a variety of mindfulness techniques, including meditation. Explore how mindfulness supports present moment awareness of sensations, thoughts, and emotions - building internal resources to manage stress and our responses.
