Registration Is Full: Intro to Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
***Registration is now full. Based on the high level of interest, we will be offering another MBSR program soon.***
Are you new to meditation or curious about mindfulness?
Are you a regular practitioner who’d like to take a deeper dive into mindfulness, insight meditation and the psychology and physiology of stress?
Are you interested in exploring MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) but not sure about committing to the full 8-week program?
Join CMP and facilitator, Lisa Sheehan, this January for an introduction to the MBSR program created at UMASS Medical School by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn in 1979. With concepts and practices drawn directly from the original 8-week MBSR program, this is an experiential, introspective program that examines the science behind mindfulness, the psychology and physiology of stress, and encompasses a variety of mindfulness techniques, including meditation and mindful movement. Explore how mindfulness supports present moment awareness of physical body sensations, thoughts, and emotions - building internal resources to manage stress and our responses.
Each session will include information as well as guided meditation & discussion.
Program available via Zoom.
Dates: Thursday evenings, January 5, 12, 19 and 26 and February 2 & 9
Time: 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM
